District Church Council (DCC) and Annual Meetings

Every Church of England parish has an elected executive body called its Parochial Church Council, or PCC. The Parish of Merton Priory is governed by a PCC consisting of members from its three districts: Christ Church, Colliers Wood; St John the Divine, Merton; and Holy Trinity, South Wimbledon. The PCC consists of the clergy and Churchwardens of the parish, together with several representatives of the laity elected at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting. The PCC is responsible for the financial affairs of the church and the care and maintenance of the church fabric and its contents.

Each church in the team has its own District Church Council, or DCC, with similar responsibilities to the PCC in matters relating to that church, and each DCC reports to the Merton Priory PCC. The lay members of each DCC are elected at the Annual District Church Meeting (ADCM), held near Easter.

The Christ Church DCC meets about seven times a year. Unconfirmed draft minutes of recent meetings can be found through the menu on the right.

Membership of the Christ Church DCC for 2017–18:
Desmond Davies and Alison Fletcher Rogers (Churchwardens)
Sarah Aucott (DCC Secretary)
Jonathan Fletcher Rogers (Treasurer)
Jane Savill and Mike Brunt (Deanery Synod representatives)
Joanne Powell and Emma Fraser (PCC members)
Shanta Sultana, Shajit Titus, Joy Lyons (Southwark Pastoral Auxiliary) and Bruce Goatly (Electoral Roll Officer)

The next DCC meeting will be on Tuesday, 12 September 2017, at 7.30 p.m.

Annual District Church Meetings (ADCMs)
Once a year the members of the church meet at the ADCM to discuss progress in the past year and to elect the Churchwardens and members of the DCC. The next ADCM will be held on Sunday, 22 April 2018.
