Collect for the Sixth Sunday after Trinity
(27 July)
    Merciful God,
you have prepared for those who love you
such good things as pass our understanding:
pour into our hearts such love toward you
that we, loving you in all things and above all things,
    may obtain your promises,
    which exceed all that we can desire;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

NOTICES IN BRIEF
(For details, click on the underlined links.)

Bible Study
Monthly Bible Study will meet on Monday, 28 July at 7.30 p.m. at Holy Trinity. Do come to meet Mary and bring ideas about future patterns: frequency, timing, venue and crucially suggestions for content. All are welcome!

Bring and Share Lunch
There will be a Bring and Share Lunch after the team service on 3 August at Christ Church – please bring food from your Nation/Heritage so we can experience and celebrate the diversity of our three churches. This will be a time for us to talk and get to know each other – it is the company which is most important so do not feel that you have to bring anything. Christ Church has limited facilities to reheat food but are able to do so.

School holidays
Please consider giving a donation of non-perishable food to Wimbledon Foodbank (box at Holy Trinity) or to Christian Care (collection at the back of the church at Christ Church). The school holidays are a time when demand for help increases. You can also donate money to Wimbledon Foodbank via their website. Thank you for helping.

Team Eucharists in August
We continue our custom from previous years of having one Eucharist for the Team across Sundays in August with the service beginning at 10.30 a.m. These will be as follows:
  •   3 August   Christ Church
  • 10 August   Holy Trinity
  • 17 August   St John's
  • 24 August   Christ Church
  • Our normal morning pattern resumes on 31 August.

    Preparation for Admission to Communion
Preparation sessions for Admission to Communion will begin in the autumn for children in school in years 3 and above. Please let the clergy know if your child would like to prepare for this.

    Metal Recycling
At Christ Church and St John's we are collecting old keys to be recycled. Please place in the box at the back of the church.

    Fun and Games Toddler Group
We have very much enjoyed running Fun and Games at St John's Hall. We have made some good friends among local parents and children. We have sadly decided to end this project due to a change of staff at Griffiths Road Methodist Church and no one to take over from within the Merton Priory Team. Our final joint venture will be the Summer Holiday Club for Merton Abbey School.

    Singing Together
If you are interested in helping with music at services on an occasional basis, we are looking for more people to join our list of musicians. Solos, groups, all ages and all instruments welcomed! If you are interested in finding out more, please get in touch with Mark or Alison.

The full rota for services in the Merton Priory Team can be found here.
